Islay Blended Malt No2 #1 Bottling Note
This Boutique-y whisky was created using single malts from the famous whisky island of Islay in the Inner Hebrides. It's made up of 55% Bowmore, 40% Laphroaig, 5% Caol Ila and carries an age statement that tells us that the youngest component is at least 27 years old! Appropriately, the label therefore features some late 1980s graffiti. What do the acronyms mean. though? FTW is presumably '...For The Win' (as opposed to a disregard for this planet or existence), whilst FWP will be a reference to some of the more perfumed floral notes found in late '80s Bowmores...
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose: Fruity and perfumed with heady orchard fruit, especially apples and pears, and light cinnamon.
Palate: Soft, torn stone fruits, more apple, almond blossom, a hint of lilac and bison grass.
Finish: Clean, satisfying and moreish.
Overall: Fragrant Bowmore and fruity Laphroaig combine beautifully.
