WOLFBURN „Batch 204“ – Madeira Cask Finish
 
Vom „Batch 204“ – die fünfte Small Batch Release mit besonderer Fasslagerung - hat die Brennerei 5800 Flaschen aufgelegt und es ist das erste Mal, dass ein Wolfburn Single Malt mit Madeira Finish in die Flasche durfte.
Fünfeinhalb Jahre reifte dieser Wolfburn in First Fill Bourbon Barrels, um dann für ein halbes Jahr in üppigen Fresh Madeira Hogsheads nachzureifen.
 
Nose: Soft desert-wine aromas are readily present, augmented by baked apple and raisins.

Palate: Sweet and full – give it time and a whole array of flavours unfurl. Plums and ripe pears lead the way, overlaid with hints of Madeira wine and wonderful oak and vanilla tones. There’s just a touch of toffee and dark chocolate hiding in there too.

Finish: Sweet tones linger on the palate and gradually melt away, leaving a wee trace of butterscotch at the very end.
