Lagavulin 10 YO Batch 3 Bottling Note
Here's the third batch of Lagavulin single malt independently bottled by That Boutique-y Whisky Company. It's a 10 year old whisky from the Isle of Islay, and it boasts a hearty helping of BBQ smoke notes.
Now, if we asked you "What do pirates smoke?", you'd all know to say "CigARRRRs!", right? Well, what about if we asked you "What do pirates drink?" It's not rum, it's Smoky-Cokeys - a tasty combination of Lagavulin and Coke! Or at least, that's what the rather familiar-looking pirates on this label like to drinks...
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose: Soft, somewhat restrained smoke - though it is quite meaty at points too. A few hints of sugarcane and cut grass develop underneath the smoke.
Palate: Caramelised peach and white grape fruitiness. Soon enough, rich notes of toasty smoke develop.
Finish: Honey, tingling spices and notes of BBQ meat and peppercorn sauce.
