Invergordon - Batch 4 Bottling Note
That Boutique-y Whisky Company have release their fourth batch of incredible independently bottled single grain Scotch whisky from the Invergordon distillery. Once again, the label gives us an insight into the inner workings of a Coffey still (which the Invergordon distillery used to house back in the day). Despite how the name of the still sounds when you read it aloud, we're not sure the diagram is completely... Correct...
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose: Red grapes still on the stem, malt loaf, cloudy apple juice and a bit of charred oak in the background.
Palate: Toffee pennies and tangerine segments at first, though this soon gives way to layers of Sherry-soaked raisins, milk chocolate and Walnut Whips. There's a little touch of ripe banana in there too.
Finish: Big, juicy notes of orange segments. Grilled pineapple starts to appear after a minute.
Overall: Well Sherried grain with loads of personality.
