Bruichladdich TBWC #2 Bottling Note
Nice to see you, to see you... Anyway, the second batch of Bruichladdich single malt Scotch whisky bottled by That Boutique-y Whisky Company has arrived, and with it we revisit the pinnacle of TV game shows - The Generation Game. However, for this laddie, there's no fondue set or dinner service in sight. Instead, it's all clever representations of Bruichladdich releases on the conveyor belt, like some DNA for the DNA releases, some Renaissance art for the Renaissance bottling and an octopus with spiders at the end of each of its eight tentacles for the Octomore range!
Whether or not they'd remember the cuddly toy at the end of the round, That Boutique-y Whisky Company has bottled an absolute beaut of a Bruichladdich. Didn't they do well?
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose: A little musky at first - takes us back to the Bruichladdich warehouses and our Fèis Ìle 2014 tasting with Jim McEwan. Cigar box and tobacco leaf too, making way for red fruit (raspberries?), vanilla, red lace liquorice and black pepper. Summer pudding.
Palate: Quite active on the palate and still very "red", with more cigar boxes and slightly fruity marinated char.
Finish: You're smoking a cigar just as some chap on the far side of the terrace whips out a hookah and slowly but surely starts to enjoy some strawberry tobacco. Or something. It's nice.
Overall: A huge Bruichladdich from That Boutique-y Whisky Company.
