Auchentoshan 25yo TBWC Bottling Note
Another awesome Auchentoshan single malt independently bottled by That Boutique-y Whisky Company! This time, they've bottled a 25 year old single malt from the distillery in the Lowland. Ryan Chetiyawardana once again mixes up a drink based around Auchentoshan's triple-distilled whisky, and he's even telepathically given you the recipe so you can follow along at home.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose: The nose is fresh and sweet, with apricot conserve on granary toast and acacia honey. Green tobacco leaves and a little damp grass provide a vegetal backdrop. A hint of wood polish lingers among milk buttery brioche, while a note of peaches in cream and crystallised ginger complement throughout.
Palate: It’s drying on the palate, as white pepper crackles through golden barley and juicy nectarines. Subtle heather toffees add complex sweetness against oily walnuts, while white grape and a little sour raspberry linger. Oak spice fizzes away underneath.
Finish: Softening slightly after a time, there’s lingering note of pineapple and a little clam juice.
Overall: An ever-evolving whisky with tonnes of character – enjoy it neat or with a little water and just wait for it to do it's work.
